Frequently Asked Questions
The Rage Release is a “rage room” attraction – basically, a place where you get to break things in a safe environment for fun and stress relief. We have a bunch of different rooms filled with smashable items (think plates, electronics, bottles, even furniture) that you can destroy to your heart’s content. It’s like an anger outlet and entertainment rolled into one. If you’ve ever wanted to let loose and smash stuff (without getting arrested), this is the place for you!
We welcome nearly all ages! Unlike many rage rooms, we even allow kids under 10 to participate in a limited, safe way. We have special kid-friendly rooms with softer items and extra safety measures just for them. Anyone under 18 does need a parent or guardian present, and of course a signed waiver, but teens and kids are absolutely welcome to join the fun. So yes – you can make this a family affair! (Pro tip: smashing stuff together is a surprisingly awesome family bonding activity.)
Safety is our top priority (even in an “anger room” we play it safe). Closed-toe shoes are a must – please don’t show up in flip-flops, or you’ll be watching instead of smashing. We also recommend comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty (you might get dusty or splattered with paint). Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered on the rest: we provide protective gear including gloves, a face shield or goggles, and even coverall suits or stylish rain ponchos to keep you safe from flying debris. By the time you’re suited up, you’ll look like a demolition pro. So basically, wear sneakers or boots and clothes you can move in – we’ll supply the safety outfit.
Booking is super easy: just call us at 207-751-3384 or Book Online!
Sessions can be as short as about 10-15 minutes for a quick stress-buster, or longer 30-minute or 1-hour sessions if you’ve got a whole lot of rage (or a big group to give everyone a turn). We’re flexible – you can choose a session length that works for you when booking. Trust us, even a 15-minute smash-a-thon can leave you surprisingly sweaty and satisfied. If during your session you feel done (maybe you’ve smashed everything and you’re feeling zen), that’s cool – no need to use the full time. On the flip side, if you booked a short session and decide you want more, if we don’t have another booking immediately after, we’ll gladly extend your time (additional fee may apply). We aim to make sure you get the catharsis you came for!
Absolutely – the more, the merrier (or should we say, the more smashers, the more shatter?). We can accommodate group sessions, team-building events, and parties easily. Our rooms generally hold up to about 4 people at a time smashing together, just for everyone’s safety and elbow room. If you have a larger group, no problem: we have multiple rooms! We can run sessions in parallel or in series so that groups of, say, 8-12 or more can all participate by splitting into teams or taking turns. We’ve hosted birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette groups, work outings – you name it. Just let us know your group size when booking and we’ll make a plan. We also offer group rates or custom packages for big events – call us and we’ll hook you up. Bottom line: bring your friends (or coworkers, or family) and bond over breaking stuff!
We provide a smorgasbord of smashables: glass bottles, plates, ceramics, old electronics, small furniture – all kinds of junk that’s just begging to be busted. We even occasionally have bigger items like appliances or an old TV, and yes, at times even a junked car for the ultimate smashing experience. You won’t run out of things to break, we promise. If you have something personal you’d love to smash (say, that printer that always jams, or a vase from an ex), give us a heads-up. In many cases you can bring an item and we’ll incorporate it into your session – we just need to ensure it’s safe (no toxic or explosive materials, please). We also accept donations of breakable items, so if you’ve got a garage full of junk, we can put it to cathartic use. But otherwise, just bring yourself – we’ve got plenty of stuff on hand to demolish.
We get it – it sounds chaotic, but yes, we prioritize safety heavily. You’ll be wearing full protective gear (face protection, gloves, etc.), and our rooms are designed to contain the chaos. We use barriers and space so shards won’t bother anyone, and our staff monitors sessions (from a safe distance or via camera) to ensure everyone’s following the rules and not doing anything too wild. We have a strict “no swinging above the shoulders” rule to prevent any accidental self-bonks. As long as you listen to the brief orientation and use common sense, the risk is minimal. Of course, you will need to sign a waiver acknowledging the inherent risks – smashing glass does carry some risk of minor cuts or scrapes. But serious injuries are extremely unlikely. We’ve had tons of sessions and knock on wood (or knock on smashed TV), everyone has walked out in one piece – grinning ear to ear, at that. In short: you’ll be okay! We make sure of it.
No way! The whole point is you do the smashing and we do the sweeping. You get to unleash havoc without any of the boring cleanup afterwards – our team will sweep up the broken bits, scrub the paint off the walls, and reset the room. You just wipe off your sweat and bask in the stress relief. We often find participants staring in awe at the wreckage they created; you’re welcome to admire your destructive handiwork, but then you can just leave the mess to us. (We’ve gotten really good at cleaning up shattered stuff – occupational hazard!). So don’t worry, you won’t be handed a broom at the end. Consider it the one place in life where you truly don’t have to clean up after yourself.
We understand that sometimes plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, just give us as much notice as possible – at least 24 hours is ideal. We don’t charge a formal cancellation fee as long as you let us know in advance. Life happens, and we’d rather you come back when you’re free to properly enjoy wrecking stuff, rather than stress about a missed appointment. If you do cancel last-minute or no-show, we might deduct any deposit you paid (if applicable), but generally we’re pretty chill about it. Just communicate with us and we’ll work with you to find another time. Our goal is for you to have an awesome experience, so we’ll happily rebook you for a better day if something comes up. Bottom line: no big penalties for cancelling, just please don’t ghost us without a word. Give us a ring, and we’ll sort it out.
